University Academy 92
in Education
UA92 is deliberately different. Designed as a game-changing higher education experience and located at a new campus in Old Trafford, Manchester, it’s purpose is to better prepare students for life and work in business, media & sport.
The institution is co-founded by the infamous Manchester United legends the Class of 92 (Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt), together with Lancaster University. Courses aim to provide real-life flexibility as you can start studies at a number of points throughout the year.
The project involved the transformation of what was the existing Kellogg’s European headquarters building into a new university. It offers teaching spaces organised around the existing atrium, breakout areas, a lecture hall, human performance lab, cafe and partnership areas.
Orangebox were able to help UA92 create meaningful collaborative spaces with the Away from the Desk product platform. Media Booths and more open configurations were specified to provide varying levels of privacy for students. The result is a healthy mix of work & learning applications that include Acorn café seating, Lossit loungers, Cubb tables & AllowMe light-touch seating.
